Everybody's Talkin'

Writer: Fred Neil

Performed by: Harry Nilsson

Everybody's talkin' at me
I don't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind
People stop and stare
I can't see their faces
Only the shadows of their eyes
{Refrain}
I'm going where the sun keeps shining
Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes
Banking off of the Northeast winds
Sailing on summer breeze
Skipping over the ocean like a storm
{Repeat Refrain}
Everybody's talking at me
Can't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind
I won't let you leave
My love behind
No I won't let you leave
I won't let you leave
My love behind

The soundtrack of the John Schlesinger film "Midnight Cowboy" features Harry's performance of Fred Neil's "Everybody's Talkin'." "Everybody's Talkin'" won Harry his first Grammy.

The Beat Club ...A video (then called a film clip) of Harry singing Everybody's Talkin came from a TV show called 'Beat Club.'  A snippet was used in an Infommercial for a 60's hits package with former Monkeee lead singer Davey Jones.

Harrys version of "Everybody's Talking" is in Borat (2006) in some of the scenes when he is in New York
